WALTERS, DAVID M. Former CEO of a Miami-based law firm. Served as Ambassador to the Vatican during the administration of President Jimmy Carter. In 1979, Mr. Walters firm came under government investigation for alleged improper issuance of US passports to foreign clients. Mr. Walters was not directly implicated but, as a result of the investigation, resigned his post with the Holy See. Mr. Walters was the founder of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Miami.
